The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR) is a non-profit, non-political, volunteer women’s service organization comprising 3,000 chapters and over 185,000 members.

Seneca (pronounced "SEH-neh-kah") Chapter, NSDAR, is one of the oldest DAR chapters in America. Located in Ontario County in New York, the chapter considers Geneva its home town.

Geneva is located on the northern end of Seneca Lake, the largest of the Finger Lakes in New York. In 2015, Geneva was one of ten cities named an "All-America City" by the National Civic League, the only city in New York that year to receive the honor.

The chapter is named "Seneca" for the lake on the shores of which Geneva is situated.

For more than a century, the members of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution have dedicated themselves to historic preservation, promotion of education, and encouragement of patriotic endeavor. These goals are as relevant in today's society as they were when our chapter was founded in 1893.

As a chapter, we encourage members to become involved in these initiatives in our local community. To learn what DAR does to promote Historic Preservation, Education, and Patriotism, visit the DAR website.

Seneca Chapter, NSDAR, is always seeking new members to help us further these goals. We welcome the opportunity to have prospective members to join us at our meetings and activities!
